Really good Igavania clone

It's EXACTLY like those Castlevania games on the Nintendo DS, down the UI. The weapon and quest system is somewhat similar to Order of Ecclesia to be precise. Sadly, the difficulty is pretty low though. Still, the game can be lots of fun. Note that there are minor LGBT themes here and there which DO SEEM like needless pandering (did we really need a lecture on polyamory?), but they're easy to ignore and never the focal point. Beating the whole game with 100% completion should take no more than 10 hours.

Iconoclasts

Not a metroidvania

Played this for 3 hours. You won't believe how fed up I am with wrench and bomb puzzles by now. You have to do these even during the boss fights. This is not a metroidvania, you'll be doing obnoxious switch flipping and box moving puzzles in every single room, sometimes up to 10 times in the same room. Who the hell thought this was good gameplay? The story is also completely nonsensical, perhaps in part due to the poor translation. I've literally no idea what the story is about. 2 stars just for the pixel art.

Divinity 2: Developer's Cut

Plagued by tech issues

It runs on Gamebryo and suffers from a particularly bad case of microstutter. Tried everything but couldn't get it to run smooth.

What Remains of Edith Finch

Not a video game

Be warned, this is a barely interactive 3D graphics movie and you'll finish it in one sitting (it's about 2 hours long). Essentially, you follow one single path throughout the house and once you reach a story trigger you get locked into a cutscene where you press prompts to see stuff happen. The story is not very coherent, but if you like mysterious for the sake of mysterious, then give it a try.
