There is a reason I spent hundreds, maybe thousands of hours playing Imperialism II - the gameplay is so much fun, you forget there are the more advanced/fancy strategy games, with nicer graphics and more complex features. In Imperialism II, it's essential to keep an eye on your priorities and resources, and to manage the trade aspect carefully. Still, this never becomes a chore, unlike with many other games.
