The Age of Decadence

True gem

One of the best RPG I ever played. True you the game seems to lock many choices between arbitrary stats ceil. However this is not a game intended to be played once, you have to play it several times with different game plans in order to uncover the full plot. A single playthrough might seem limited, but in truth it's a masterpiece and you will forget thoses boundaries once you understand your class, your game plan and gonna stick with it... whatever it might be

Factorio

One of the best game ever !

Build a rocket to escape the planet on which you crashed.... Silly concept. But, for this rocket to be built you have to go through a long and complex road of automatization. And here Factorio shine ! the possibilities are awesome ! Some are obvious, some need devious, clever way of thinking but the possibilities are limitless ! Not an easy game to be sure. It will challenge your sense of organization, you will learn that Murphy's law is not a vain word and you will even, at times, be discouraged from the complexity.... especially when you will need something you did not forsee and need to rebuild half your factory... But be assured it's fair (you do not loose anything save for time when rebuilding) and rewarding : the launch of your first rocket will be a great moment for you ! That is Factorio : a clever game where you have to carefully think, plan, test patterns, balance ressources and items you craft... Understand what work and what does not work on a (very) large scale.... A true gem ! Special note for mods : the game is fully moddable and some change drastically the scope of the game, making it challenging again even for the most season players out there !

Battle Brothers

Good but dead

This game was promising. This game is actually pretty good. But this game is unfinished, unbalanced and pretty rough... Devs said a while ago they did not intend to work on the game anymore and they kept on their promise. Too bad, could have been a masterpiece. But in its current state it's worth the pricing if you like games like jagged alliance

Caesar II

Could have been great

This is not a game review : to be short, the game is great, for me it's the best game in the serie. This is a gog version review, and there's things to tell... First of all : you have to disable mouse acceleration or you juste cannot play at all. Next : I remember an "accelerate time" action in the speed menu of the game. It's not here anymore. A city builder without time acceleration... Woooo, that is a huge drawback ! Luckily the shortcut (A) still work.... Then the game is cluncky... at best. Do not expect a smooth experience. And the smoothness of the game vary greatly seemingly without any reason... But the game works and that's way more than anything I succeded doing in the multiple attempts I did in the past !

TIS-100

Hard game to review...

... for one good reason : it's not a game. At least not a video game. So add 2 stars if you're a developper and you enjoy it, remove 2 stars oteherwise. So basically, if you are not a developper, if the terms JNE or Accumulator doesn't mean anything to you, just not buy it. You'll never understand anything, would be even more puzzled after finishing the game manual... you might eventually grasps some basis notions with some walkthrough but it's definitivly not worth the headaches.... if you want to leaarr programming just grab some tutos and be done ! If you're a developper you may find it enjoyable. It's a sort of simplified ASM environnement in which you have to solve logical problems. A sort of sudoku for dev... but much more enjoyable imho

Thea: The Awakening

Could have been great

I just lost a long review, so in short : the game is like a mix between a 4X and King Of the Dragon Path. The core concept of the game is absolutely awesome and I liked my first game very much. However it's a 4X / King of Dragon Path mix where you are alone. Once you understand the game mechanisms there's - sadly - nothing left : everything becomes bland, especially the complex "fighting" system which is uselessly complex and, once understood, offer no depth, is slow and clumsy. Even the quests and encounters are the same from one game to another. The game being thought for replayability it's a failure, but if you like the game style you'll enjoy it for a dozen of hours or so. Oh and tthe music is awfull
