1849: Gold Edition

Joke

This game is a bad joke, designed to trick people who wanted to play a Sierra game. It is simple, repetitive, boring, it feels like it was suppose to be free.

Severance: Blade of Darkness

A combat system to be envied.

It has been more than ten years since I played this game for the first time, getting it again I realized that nobody has made a combat system with more skill based combat (and I mean skills you learn as a player, and not your character as in most other games). That being said, the graphics are a bit dated, but much better than other games of its time, plus there is a mod out there that brings them up to date (Blade of Light). The world and its lore is obscure and mystical, and it should be, it is after all an adventure/horror/fighting game in a fantasy world which can be described as Conan's Hyberia meets Dungeons&Dragons and they have a bastard child which grows alone in the woods raised by wolves.

Sacrifice

Drugs&Dragons

Well, malformed dragons, deformed pigs, low-poly monsters from before low-poly was cool. But, still, an unforgetable game which makes you want more. Solid gameplay, fun lore and great A+ voice acting (some of them from the Legacy of Kain franchise and others like Tim Curry) as well as character design out of this world. It all feels like a weird drug induced dream inside what was suppose to be a fantasy setting. It is one of those unique gems, which stand out. It deserves some of your time.
