Gangland

Bugs, crashes and repeated mechanics

This game has some fun and simple mechanics, a sort of resource based real time strategy game that happens in a fantasy mobster ruled town where gangs/families fight for the right to extort business. In the beginning, as you learn these mechanics and develop winning tactics it's enjoyable and you get some of that satisfying "become stronger and better" feeling. However, after a while it gets somewhat boring as the game story struggles to give you reasons for why you have to start all over in every mission and the playthrough/tactics of every mission become the same. Other problems are random crashes/hangs (with both renderers) and strange bugs like not being able to hit an enemy unit if you're too close to them. Combined with the forced auto-save system (can't save the game when you want to) this can get frustrating.
