Breach & Clear: DEADline Rebirth

Half-hearted attempt, very disappointed.

It starts off exciting but its swiftly downhill from there. I was looking for a zombie theme, with XCOMesque combat, and some story/RPG elements to go with it. What Deadline actually is, is an XCOMesque combat system tacked onto a zombie shooter, where you mainly fight things that have little ability to hurt you, and where you wander around small, undeveloped maps essentially just going to the next location with no story to speak of. To top it off the game lacks polish to a severe degree, to the extent you kick down *every* door (because this was the default animation in the first game), where each area resets whenever you transition there, and where loot drops are just white rotating blobs that are not even likely to be relevant. Pro: - Varied combat abilities - Beginning character model customization - Detailed weapon models - Pause and plan command mode + real-time if desired - Opening scene is exciting/provocative Con: - Minimalist plot, under-developed with no characters - Pointless skill trees, apart from starting abilities, skills mainly just give +% to combat - Spartan, under-developed environments, particularly the "dungeons" - Frequent and too-easy combat, poor AI, poor path-finding - General unpolished feel (e.g. locations reset every time you enter, placeholder icons stand in for loot drops, all weapons are upgraded esoterically with unexplained "scrap" you constantly pick up from zombies as the fuel for upgrades, corpses all disappear almost immediately) - Unbalanced combat abilities (e.g. taking explosive perk is an overpowered free grenade, which renders grenades you find useless) - Bugs (e.g. zombies caught on objects, objects hanging above ground level, "money" loot disappearing before combat even ends)
