I'm just going to be short and sweet here. Baldur's Gate is the greatest game the PC gaming genre has created. At worst, it is it's greatest RPG, only rivaled by it's sequel, Baldur's Gate 2. Games do not get better than this, people. If you haven't played it yet, I envy you. Experience all that RPG gaming has to offer, and do it now!
I have to get this out of the way. Pay no attention to the people who say "combat is too hard". If you are like me, you are absurdly tired of rpgs dumbing down the combat and other aspects of the beloved genre. Combat is challenging and that is a GOOD THING PEOPLE! The Witcher 2 is not too hard. It is challenging and rewarding. Ok rant over. I was completely absorbed by this stunning masterpiece of a game. While Witcher 1 was a solid 8/10 or so, this title skyrockets to 10/10. There are very few faults I can find in it, and so many positives: -Outstanding visuals -Excellent, challenging, and rewarding combat -Immersive story -Mature but not overly indulgent themes -Great leveling system -A great company that deserves your cash. The guts it takes to release a new, high budget title with no DRM is insane. Get this game. You will not be disappointed. Unless you like to have your hand held the entire time. If that's the case, get Dragon Age II.
