I really wanted to like this game, but it seems that more work was given for the nice graphics and sound, and less for the gameplay and puzzle design. + Really nice backgrounds, drawn in hand + Atmospheric noir music, although a bit repetitive + Ok story - No objectives guidance / poor hint system - Some weird puzzles - Locations or advances to the story halted until you ask something to a specific person - Dead ends - Inventory is accessed only by F1 - Bad voice acting - Worst inventory management ever - you pick up garbage, most of items are not used - Many locations, but most are empty of actions, nothing to do - Medieval catacombs in 1930s America (!!!) - Pixel hunting What else to say? Only for completionists and with a walktrhough

That could be a great experience and story to go through if it weren't for the major design flaws in puzzle design and interface. - Inactive hotspots unless you learn some info, - No feedback if you are doing smth wrong / or about the correct directions you need to follow for solving a puzzle - Moon logic in puzzles - Bad path finding To name a few. Important note; this version is not exactly same as the original, some puzzles have been removed, maybe due to their bad design? (e.g. the leaf puzzle in the giants' village) Only for adventure game completionists (like me). I liked the duration of the game, graphics / sounds are ok for the time. Story is ok, but nothing else is memorable from the game unfortunately, except the frustration from the gameplay.

Was really filled with nostalgia during experiencing Broken Sword 5. After Broken Sword 2 back in 1997, and mediocre BS3 and a horrendous BS4, this was the first true successor to the series, so glad about this. Amazing graphics, really nice puzzles, decent voiceovers, great soundtrack and a story true to the spirit of Broken Sword is all what you need from your favourite series. A minor issue with the ending and the final confrontation with Langham which could be richer. --WARNING - GAME BREAKING BUG , Spoiler follows -- Near the end at Eden, if you light the sausage on the goat and then throw the fig at the path for her to follow, but WITHOUT having her eaten the yarn first (what?!), game freezes for ever. (version 2.2) -----

-- Spoiler Alert Start-- Ok that was really cruel. After almost 20 hours in the game, i found out i couldn't finish it because i had burnt a map early in the game which i needed it to open a door just before the end of the game. -- Spoiler Alert End-- No, this cannot be Charles Cecil, it cannot be, i deny to believe that he would design something so cruel like this. Dead end on a 2006 adventure game? I think i am having nightmares here, please wake me up. Apart from that disastrous flaw, what else is to remember? Nothing: bad puzzles without logic, story one of the same, amazingly torturing PDA puzzles for connecting to various servers, uninteresting 3D environments, so so music. I have played all Broken Sword games, and this one i have already deleted it from my memory. So sad.
