it have an extensive research tree but, i need to research, before i can get research points. that means that the entire research tree is just locked. to make matters worse: it lacks multiplayer.

the lack of compettive multiplayer is a huge minus. though the sandbox mode is a plus. it works perfectly in windows 8.1 and in windows 7, though not on 600 series nvidia gpus.
i never played the first game much until recently, as the second game might be a bit better. i tested it in windows 10 and it does not require any workarounds or anything. keep in mind that you might have to use cheat codes in order to get anywhere as the game is very difficult. the first cheat code is activated with a capital letter. i played a demo long ago and that enabled me to explore a lot of the systems.
though the gtx 770m might be a bit weak. as for the gamepay: it looks interesting. looks very age of wonders like. if it got multipleyer however, it would get an additional 2 stars from me.

it requires direct x 12 and not direct x 11. even using command line arguments to disable direct x 12 does nothing.
