this game needs some serious fixes. some times, it is possible to get away with spending half of the required gold. the AI constantly cheats and always wins, even with the win game cheat used.
it requires uplay to work it seems. as a result, it crashes without uplay installed.
no matter what option i select, it asks for serial number. i might have that from my original collection but, i do not know where it is.
it does not include the original version at all, just the expansion. the expansion have different music that is not as good as the original.
the japanese voice acting ruined it for me. if it had english voice acting, i would have played it.
as it requires directplay which is not possible to install in windows 10 (because it will directly reboot and uninstall it with spring creators update) it can not run in windows 10.
hardware cursor and biliniar textures is not working. the ai is improved considerably while weak units can easily kill a monarch. gog really messed up this time.
i have the old disc version which have graphical issues and crashes in modern systems. the gog version fixes those but, the cd check is still there but broken. i had to use my original executable from the disc version to get it working properly.
i got this in hopes that i would get a working max 2 but no, it is not working because of incompatible dlls. i am seriously losing faith in gog for releasing one bad game after another.
despite what it says, the expansion is not included. the game is updated to be compatible with users that have the expansion. its reliance on 16 bit dlls means that it will never run in a 64 bit system.
