Fahrenheit is an unforgettable action-adventure with an amazing atmosphere. The story starts out strong and for the first half of the game it grabs the player's attention and keeps them guessing ahead. The characters are interesting (even if flat), and the challenges keep you on your toe. This, however, all changes in the second half of the game. The story loses focus and the rapidly spreading plot holes all get filled with cliches. Gameplay becomes annoying and repetitive, and instead of character development, we get character deterioration. Regardless, Fahrenheit has gripping atmosphere and impressive production value, and these made me turn a blind eye toward its flaws. This is a great game, and everyone who likes adventure games should play it.
Icewind Dale is an iconic action RPG and one of the greatest games of its time. But my favorite part of it is the soundtrack. This game contains some of the best pieces of Jeremy Soule, who also composed for titles such as Morrowind, Oblivion, and Guild Wars. Yet the score of Icewind Dale in my opinion is the greatest of them all. You can just sense the inspiration overflow Mr. Soule had going on at the time he was working on these pieces. The game is worth buying just for the free soundtrack that's included as bonus content.
