Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Good, but not "that" good.

Because of the high gradings I just had to buy this game and see if it was a "real" horror game compared to all the other ones, like many reviews said. I've been playing the game for 2-3 hours now but I'm not that impressed as I should be. Feels like there is something that is missing. I was playing Layers of Fear about a year ago and it was totally horrifying. I was not scared at all while playing Amnesia. The environments looks all the same and it feels like it's a lot of copy paste assets everywhere with empty boxes and drawers. I mean, it was the same thing with Layers of Fear, but everything was unexpected with that one. However, it feels like a good game, but I have not really been scared yet. I will probably give it some more hours tomorrow. And yes - I had it pitch black with very good sound at a loud volume level.

Tormentum: Dark Sorrow

This game got my GF into gaming

I just wanted to try my new game for 5 minutes with my girlfriend next to me. I just wanted to open the first iron gate and then turn the game off again because my GF really dislike gaming. But we started thinking together and she got hooked immediately and did not want to stop playing. Now she want to play this game with me all the time to finish it up because she feel liked she's contributing even if I handle all the mouse clicking. So this is very suitable as a 2 player game (like Samorost 3 and other puzzle games). I really like the puzzle solving and the atmosphere myself as well. A really good game! I'm so happy I got her into gaming because of this game. I don't think Simon the Sorcerer or Monkey Island would have worked the same because those games are too big and requires so much try everything on everything. This is more convenient as an introduction game to the genre since it's a rather small world with more concrete puzzles and more logic is included and you feel more smart when solving a puzzle in Tormentum then combining a rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle. A must try for fans of the genre.

Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

What Diablo 3 should have been

I bought this game 2 months ago but I just installed it and tried it out. I got hooked almost immediately since I realized it had almost the same functionality as Diablo 2 with the same keys and similar hud and same feeling, but with Diablo 3 similar graphics. This has everything that we did not get with Diablo 3, except that it's another game. I totally love it! Beautiful surroundings, very good music, good atmosphere, very good combat feeling and cool skills and features and I love the level up system. Wow, I'm impressed someone could made a good Diablo clone that is actually better than Diablo 3 itself. Sorry for comparing with Diablo but this really is copy paste, in a very good way. 5/5 and I will finish this game and buy the expansion when I've completed the game.

Crusader: No Regret™

I've always ignored this game

I don't know why, but somehow I never bothered playing this game. I have always been a big fan of Crusader No Remorse and it was one of the first PC games I ever bought when I was a kid. It has always been magical to me, but No Regret meant nothing to me. One of the most magical things with No Remorse was the "Secure base camp" where you could buy weapons from weasel with all your credits etc etc. It was magical music and it kind of gave me the creeps every time I came there. Very depressing somehow and very emotional. Then when I tried out No Regret for the first time around 5-6 years ago, I saw that they got rid of the credits and they got rid of the base camp. I actually had to google it, and yes - there was no base camp and no credits. That made me ignore the game...until now. This time I wanted to give it a chance even though they removed my favorite elements from the previous game. I'm still sad about the credits, but THERE ACTUALLY IS A BASE CAMP! Why didn't anyone tell me that earlier? You just have to complete the first 3 levels, then there actually is one camp where you can rest and breath for a while. The train station camp is what I was looking for all the time, I just did not know that it existed. That made my eyes very wet. And it made this game a very worthy successor. I'm giving this 5/5 now only because of that train station.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

What a game!

I started playing this game recently and I got caught into the story immediately. Even on my older 2013 gaming laptop, this game runs fine on lower/medium graphics. I have always wanted to play a realistic medieval game where you die easily and can do a little bit of what you want. This is the closest game this far. Very beautiful environments and atmosphere with great gameplay and storyline makes this game absolutely one of the better games that I've played in modern days. The music could have been more "characteristic" though for extra feeling. I am so much going to finish this game and buy all the add-ons.

A Bird Story

Disappointing

I played To the Moon and fell in love with that game. I still think about the story from time to time. Therefore I needed to play Finding Paradise, but since A Bird Story was supposed to connect the games together, I felt that I really had to play it before trying the third game. I kind of regret it. I understand that this piece of art were supposed to be a piece of art, but it was not a game. I did NOT enjoy any single moment of this game, except flying around with the paper plane which was kind of rewarding, and also the most interactive part in the whole game. I totally understood nothing and I just wanted it to end so that I could continue playing Finding Paradise. Lucky me this game only took one hour to finish. I understand where the creator of the game was going, but it was a failure. Hope the third one is better!

Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek

Annoying garbage search

It's a decent game and I enjoy it, but the game force you to click through billions of items all the time which is kind of annoying. It was fun the first three times, but then it was a little bit too much. And the game does not make me want to explore and search and trial and error. I just press that hint button all the time because I don't care. Usually I never use hints and walkthrough until I really get stuck for a long time, but now I just want to see the continuation of the story, and that's why I give this game 4/5 stars because it's enjoyable and kind of unique in a way. The graphics are fun, but I prefer the more classic detective style where you actually can see your character walking around etc...

To The Moon

More like an interactive movie

Not really a standard game with normal gameplay, obstacles, enemies, fights etc etc. This was more like controlling a very beautiful movie. It still felt like a game so it was never a problem for me. Very charming graphics, good music with a very sad and beautiful story combined with strong main characters is what makes this game fantastic. This is not for stressed gamers who wants to get immediate response all the time. This is for gamers that are a bit more sensitive and prefer games with a good single player adventure. Totally recommended! Not too short, not too long. Quite perfect length for a game of this type!

Black Mirror 3

As good as the sequel

I just finished off the third game in the series and I was in general very satisfied with almost everything in the game. It had the same graphic engine and atmosphere as the second game and was kind of just a continuation of the second game and they could have been merged together, but then I guess the second game would have been a bit too long. I totally enjoyed this third game and it put and end to everything. I've only been playing the Black Mirror games the last month now and that explains something about the games at least! I'm totally satisfied with all these games and It gave me a very good creepy adventure all together. The first game was the best, but the other two are quite close! Some parts in the game felt a little bit rushed though, but I would recommend the BM games to everyone who likes mystery point and click adventure games!

Black Mirror 2

Some annoying details, but very good

I played the original Black Mirror 2000 and got totally hooked so I got very eager to play the other BM games. Black Mirror 2 was almost as awesome as the first game, though there were some details that got me very upset. Like some papers you get, you can't see them in big screen. And some details you actually needed to have very sharp eyes looking at the graphic which was not very clear. And also, if I was a game creator I would think "Can I possibly use brute force to get to this room by just bashing the door/climbing the wall instead of looking for small magical relics for hours to open just a small door that you could have entered with just a hammer" etc etc...apart from all this, the game was very good and kept the same atmosphere as the previous game. Story was phenomenal and now I'm going for the third game!
