Next to Baldur's gate 1 it is my favourite. Great class creation, compelling storyline, and a whole slew of areas to explore. If you like RPG's you can't lose buying this for only $10.
I found that BG2 had a lot more focus in its gameplay, and it was just an overall more interesting game. LD2 especially has such a limited plot focus, and the areas you visit are very standard (like the first ID). There are a lot of snowy areas and tombs. Needless to say I would wait to see if they can get BG2 up on here before picking up this game. Choose the better one first. At the very least if you haven't played BG1 you should do that one first. They aren't related plotwise, but BG1 has a much more compelling storyline.
I have been playing this game on and off since it came out. Honestly I prefer it even more than BG2, simple because of it having such an interesting, challenging, and compelling storyline and bosses. Such a rich fantasy world, and the best part is the number of areas you can explore. Truly a masterpiece.
