Tropico 5 has not been patched properly. Getting in touch with Kalypso staff was impossible, as they tend to avoid all means of communication with them, regardless of the platform. Because of that, I will only review the game-breaking bugs the game has: 1.) There is a game-breaking bug, which triggers the uprising, the military buildings receive the target marks above them, the crowd keeps running in the streets with the arms, but they do not have the uprisers marker above them. The military gets grouped in front of the targeted buildings prepared to defend them, but they do not attack the uprisers, because the uprisers have not been marked, and they do not attack the buildings nor the army. This makes the sandbox mode impossible to be played long term, with constitution options other than democracy, because the democracy constitution option doesn’t allow the uprisings. Thus, roleplaying a totalitarian or police state is impossible. It is not possible to build military buildings during this time, as the uprising is in progress, but it is not functional, because of the bug. 2.) After the uprising has been over, there are buildings which remain empty due to the population loss. The problem is that those buildings do not get repopulated by other people, who got into the work force, and have the wealth required to live inside of them. Instead, the player is forced to demolish those bugged buildings, and build the new ones, so the population can start moving in. It is a waste of money, a waste of time as the construction workers become occupied rebuilding the same residential buildings over and over again and it creates unnecessary traffic jams. It makes sandbox mode unplayable in the long run. 3.) Tourism cap in the game leaves lots of hotels empty. 4.) The oil refinery in the sea does not become removed sometimes once the oil deposit has been depleted, thus making the scenery uglier.

Make fun of the feminists, good, but at least make a good game while you are at it. This one is terrible Point And Click game. It is set in a fantasy world which your average extremist feminist dreams of - men serve no purpose other than for the reproduction, while feminist women rule the world... the very same world the men have created. The game can't run in full screen mode, but runs only in a small window. The graphics and art style are abysmal, and the gameplay is not interesting at all. It sure is an old game, it was published in 1996, but who cares, the game radiates the primitive aura it has. It is so blunt and boring. I did not play it past the 5 minutes to try it out, when I got it in my library. Few years later, couple of minutes before writing this review, the game didn't run at all, for some unknown reason. I have intended to uninstall it anyway, and did not bothering trying out to make it work, for the sake of playing it one more time. Good riddance. It is one of the worst Point And Click games that I have played, and one of the worst PC games overall. 1/5
They made sure to add logos of developer and publisher companies at the launch, and they included Gog logo as well. You know stuff, Gog presents and what not, which is not a usual thing to see... but that didn't make the game any better. No matter how lazy this attempt was at making this game feel premium or exclusive to Gog, it didn't work as intended. The game suffers from major issues. They did not bother porting this properly at 16:9 screen resolution. They kept the original 4:3 ratio, and filled the extra screen with the black colour. The graphics look decent, considering this is an attempt at porting an arcade game from 2002. One can not use a controller. Keyboard is the only way to go. The controls can not be changed neither. The key bindings are fixed, but the default controls feel uncomfortable and totally randomly placed. I do not know what have they tried to do here, but they failed at whatever they did. They probably wanted to cash in on someone’s childhood nostalgia. Avoid this lazy emulator cash grab.
An arena mode DLC, which suffers from lots of issues. The concept of this DLC is great, but it has been poorly executed. Player is thrown in the small arena, which aesthetically resembles campaign map areas. They look nice, and there are about 5 different environmental versions. Crucible was done in over-the-top hardcore, unbalanced fashion, in order to please some of their fans from Grim Dawn's official forum, known as praetorians", a minor group of fanboys in comparison to the rest of the normal fans, who do not worship Crate Entertainment as their deity. Praetorian is their forum rank, thus the reference. Unfortunately, people who do critically think of this game are outvoiced by this blindly supportive minority, which keeps their forum echo-chamber safe from the rest of the fans. Discussing with them results in wolfpack joint verbal attacks. Whenever I tried to point out crucible's flaws, the pack was preying on me. It was like crucible. Monsters spawn from all points of compass, and the goal is to beat them all. At player's disposal are some NPCs which provide certain services in order to boost player's attributes, resistances and damage output. Player can construct defenses which offer additional crowd control and damage. These services are expensive, and currency used as payment is scarce. Most builds which work in the hardest difficulty of the campaign mode aren't viable in crucible due to exaggerated challenges awaiting inside the crucible. Even praetorians struggle to name more than 10 viable builds that work in crucible. Only one-handed weapon + shield using Soldier mastery are viable melee builds. Dual-wield and two-handed melee are generally not viable. Some rare caster and ranged builds work, but only if combined with, again, Soldier mastery. Due to the huge number of monsters, all those visual effect are overkill for the GPUs, thus cutting the FPS, and making survival even harder. Do not buy this.
YouTube footage made me see how beautiful this game looks, and looks alone were enough to make me interested in this game. I was watching both trailer and gameplay footages, and fell in love with it. Both video footage and screenshots made the game look like a piece of art. The gameplay seemed very basic, and the game itself looked like an adventure, where you explore the depths, and feel no pressure at all. No challenges, no objectives, nothing, just enjoy the game. I eagerly purchased it few days after it was released on Gog. Unfortunately, after the installation the game simply did not respond when I attempted to run it. Gog support was unable to solve the issue, this is up to developer, not Gog team. Before you jump into any conclusion my pc is able to run titles like Grand Theft Auto V, Metro 2033 (Redux), Metro - Last Light (Redux), Grim Dawn and Shadow Warrior 2, on 1080p, with respectable amount of details, depending on the game per se. Check out my pc specification before you decide to purchase: Operating system: Windows 7 64bit Processor: Intel i7 4790 Quad core 3,6 GHz Graphics card: Nvidia GTX 750ti 4GB Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97P-D3 RAM: 16 GB Directx 11 All Microsoft Visual C++ packages installed.
