Deus Ex™ GOTY Edition

1 word: Buy it! (well, 2 actually)

Wanna see for yourself why is this game regarded, multiple times, as one of the, if not THE, best games ever made?, even after it's excellent 2011 prequel was released?. Well, this was, along with System Shock, one of the first titles to combine multiple genres, something very common with today's games. This title combined RPG elements into an FPS game, upgrading and improving your character's stats over the course of the game. Also, it was heralded for having multiple choices to progress to a single level, wich also had multiple routes; want to cruise through a level undetected?, guns blazing?, it was all your choice. The only downside I could give to this game is the dated graphics and the somewhat clunky UI, but this is a 2000 game using the first Unreal engine, it can also be played with HD resolutions natively and, if you know how to tinker with your graphics card drivers, you can add extra eye candy by adding antialiasing and texture filters, making the game somewhat less dated and a bit more pleasing to the eye. I already have this game in Steam, but there's absolutely no reason not to buy the GOG version, wich includes it's excelent soundtrack, along with all the extra GOG treats you get, especially if you're somewhat paranoid with DRM, wich this release has absolutely none, zilch, nein. So, what the heck are you waiting for!?, BUY IT!.

Far Cry®

A Far Cry from being fun.

There are already many reviews praising the game's graphics, when I play a game, I don't care if it has the best graphics in the world, although it helps a bit sometimes, but the gameplay in this game is so infuriating and so random that even the prettiest of the graphics won't have a redeeming factor. The story is pretty silly, the voices are nothing short of laughable and a cardboard box has more personality than the characters of this game. The game starts out being a bit interesting enough and the action is a bit hectic sometimes... if you're not dealing with snipers. Seriously, you'll want to punch a baby seal if you're still playing the game after you've dealt with a tower of snipers. The game maintains to be decent enough as you progress and it may actually start to grow on you, until you reach certain point where you no longer have to fight humans... seriously, the new enemies you'll encounter are some of the cheapest and most infuriating of any game. I've never actually finished this game, but I just wanted the pain to stop. I actually bought this game in retail disc and I literally threw it to the garbage and I never looked back. Avoid at all costs, you'll never be able to remove this game from your GOG library. Ever.

Cautiously optimistic

I used to play this game a lot in my Amiga, heck, I still have the disks and the box somewhere around here!, but reading other reviews that this is not the Amiga version, but the MS-DOS version and the ploblems it had, then I've gotta reserve my nostalgic optimism elsewhere.
