really good presentation but it's another dice rolling simulator and you don't really have much in the way of choices. characters have extremely short movement range and have to reload constantly, which would be fine but losing 80% rolls multiple rounds in a row means reloading and then you have to repeat the same areas over and over again until RNG doesn't screw you over. nah!
it's alright in the first few levels but the game is badly designed. you will be forced into unwinnable situatons sometimes and forced to abuse save scumming because you need a certain amount of health to survive the next poorly designed battle room. skill really doesn't matter much here. you just spam A and D behind a wall until the enemy is dead
why go through so much effort to craft the first 2/3 of the game just to make the last part so insufferable? The combat is way too poorly designed to justify being mobbed by 15 enemies at once who have insane accuracy and target tracking and have insanely fast attack speeds and janky animations that cause your shots to not register. you are guaranteed to take damage in combat due to the bad animations. there is no skill involved. it's just about having a stronger gun, which is fine when you're only against a few enemies at a time. not over a dozen at once with no way to replenish healing.
enemies aren't very hard. 95% of my deaths are cheap tricks that made me fall off the map to my insta-death. you can also die by jumping from a staircase to the floor right below you. sometimes you can fall the same distance and not die. it's really inconsistent. re-exploring areas isn't really that interesting so it just turns into a bad walking simulator with no story. hopefully hellpoint 2 will have actually difficult enemies and none of these cheap garbage involving falling to your death.
