Ads says 81% off, I see 59%. Individually, all three game would cost me 12,50$, this combo cost 20$. No saving from buying this. Edit: Well, turns out there was indeed an error in the price. Now the bundle is 82% off and the price is finally worth buying this bundle, as it now cost 9,24$. That is, if my edit get updated in time, to reduces potential confusion. So yeah, at the end of the day, always double-check if a deal is really a deal.
If you like BLOON, you may like it, but beware of the controls. I played for less than an hour, and between that time, the game screwed me 3 times. To give an exemple, the very first menu in the game, you need to choose your language. Should be simple. There are 6 and English is top left. I pless A (gamepad), nope does nothing, press Start, still nothing. You have to click on the button at the bottom of the screen to continue. Why not, until while going down, you have to go over Italian, changing you game language entirely... What to do? Temporaly chance to M&K... So now you can at least start the game. So to build thing you have to press LT, and to quit the building menu, you have to press... LT good. To build thing you need to press A and upgrade with Y. But also, to destory them with B, you know the button that in most game it means "go back". Yeah not here, you'll make a tower, destroy it accidently and realise you dont regain all the money spent to build it....yay.
TLDR: Either change the camera so it's always behind the player, or make the movement independant from the cursor position. Here's a little example. Let say your character is in the middle of a room and there is an enemy in front of you, to the north. Your cursor is where your character will face, and your character's movement will be based on where your cursor is. Think of it as a circle, where the cursor is centered in the middle and you can only move on the perimeter with left/right and increasing or shrinking it with up/down. Because the enemy is north, going left will lead you to the left and the right to the right. Simple isn't it? Now let say the enemy is east of you, if you press left, you will go to... up. But if you wished to go left, you would had to press... down. A bit confusing eh? But don't worry, movement won't be the only this you'll struggle with. You will also need to deal with the physics. So your character has no pre-made attack animation, so everything must be made manually. Wanna swing your sword to the left? Drag the mouse right to left! On the right? Left to right! If only it was this simple... But the movement you will need to do to swing you weapons from one place to the next, is also dictated by where you are looking at. Enemy is west? A left-to-right swing now will be down-to-up. But wait, I hear you say, "If you place your mouse up to swing right-to-left, than that mean you will need to drag the mouse down if the enemy is west, right?" Yes that is correct. "And if the enemy is west than that means you will need to press up to go left?" Still correct. "But if the enemy is west of you, by swinging you weapon from left to right, wouldn't that partially incapacitate you movement ? Since now you are looking south and aiming north. You would need to to adjust your footwork so instead of simply pressing up to go west, you would need to press right when the sword is south and left when it'd be north?" Yes and that's the problem.
That's the best way I could describe this game. It's like a mobile game, in the sense that it doesn't require long playing sessions, it's easy to understand and the mini games are fun and challenging. But unlike mobile games, this game does not have the typical bullcrap like daily timer, microstansactions, predatory UI and other ugly shits. Truly, a very satisfying simplistic games.
Overall, I liked Carrion, I think it's a good little game. My only criticism is the way you control the monster, it can be really hard to tell where the "head" is when it looks like a big red worm. Sometimes it's one of the ends, and other times it's somewhere in the middle. And it's even more confusing in the water, where you're literally a bunch of red worms. There could have been a button, like the D-pad, where you can change the shape of the monster at any time. Using Left/Right to become Flat for a narrow area (also determining where is the "head" of the monster), or Up/Down a ball for more speed or something like that. But despite that, I think it's worth it. 9/10
