Desperados 1 is a underthought-out puzzle game which punishes you for being too slow with the mouse and keyboard, which is a no-no for a game of this type, Desperados 3 is an overwrought game who tries to be everything at the same time and fails at everything. Desperados 2 is just perfect - it has a compelling story and allows for player's creativity and metagaming in the solution of the game within that story line, without being too demanding graphically (compared to D3), and without being gimmicky, like the D1. If you wanna buy just 1 out of the series of 3 this is the one that you want.

The game is perfect in its design and variety of enemies, unfortunately the controls sensitivity (or rather fickleness and a lack of stable key polling method) leave much to be desired - sometimes professor behaves as if controlled by a random number generator.
