Pro: Different story. Fun weaponry, especially the Stake Gun. Bloody and violent. Short burst of gameplay (May vary on difficulty level). Con: May not appeal to linear shooter haters. Enemies are sometimes reused. Can annoy you if you don't have a good twitch reflex. TOO MUCH FUN!!!
I've played and beaten both versions, they both kick ass, get it. Really good story, too.
For those of you who have played Fallout 3, you will know from the screen shots that the games are nothing alike. Fallout uses the fan boy favorite turn-based combat, while Fallout 3 uses real-time combat. Ammo is scarce is both games, monsters are highly detailed in both graphics and background, the games have some of the best stories in video gaming, and best of all, the game itself is a true masterpiece. the game is set in a post-apocalyptic Earth where nuclear war has destroyed many locations, radiated most of the water, and created mutant monsters and humans (Ghouls.). You are tasked by your vault overseer (People live either in vaults, which are homes underground, or on the surface and face many threats to their life, to get a water chip for your vault's malfunctioning water purifier. Along the way on you quest, you will encounter Raiders (Thieves...), giant animal mutants, and dreaded Super Mutants, which are a real bitch to kill. I recommend this game to anyone. BUY IT NOW!!! And screw the trilogy pack at Target or Walmart, it's cheaper to buy all 3 on here.
I really haven't been a fan of Rainbow Six until I played Rainbow Six Vegas. I thought the other ones had too much difficulty, Annoying AI, and terrible mission layouts. This one though is awesome!!! Get it.
I've had this game since it came out. I wasn't much into it until I learned some tactics via friends and created my own African style maps. This game is good, but I think you should get the remake that allows more units on screen and adds new ones. Decent interface, average A.I., and easy to use controls make this game really good. An 8 out of 10 in my opinion.
