At its time it had the best graphics and was ahead of all games. The gameplay is also more challenging than newer games. You fall asleep playing the new Far Cry games because it's so easy. Simply a great game and one of my favorite games.

The better Gothic with good controls.... The first two Gothic games were unplayable because of the terrible controls and terrible combat system. Risen 1-3 are perfect. You can play it with Xbox controller (Xpadder) too! I have all 3 Risen games on all systems and love all Risen games. Great combat sytem.

The game is great like the Original its two predecessors! What kind of disturbed people are out here again. One gives a bad rating because he can't use cheats, another because there is no MAC version and the next because it's too expensive for him!??!? Can you rate the GAME and not some other garbage that has nothing to do with the game!? Yes, it's a REMASTER, not a remake. Not that much is changed from the original, so cry somewhere else, quill72.
