Quake Veteran Review

When I was a teen, mom got me a Quake 2 CD I played in am IBM aptiva 133 Mhz and CRT. It was my favorite game for the longest time. Replaying this version with the new engine brings all the memories back. The new enemy behaviors is a great addition. The gallery with all the drawings and info about the game it also a much appreciated detail. I lost my CD long ago, but thanks to this release I even have a new campaign and all the expansions that I never saw when this was released.

Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove

Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove

Great Platformer with expansions for almost all tastes. Multi Genre in use: Shovel Knight is your standard Metroidvania, Plague Knight lets you approach the game from a caster perspective, Specter lets you be Ninja Gaiden and King Knigth takes some elements from Wario and also it's a full blown card game. I wish I had this in physical. It's really great.

Spelunking done right

As fun as the original. Give it a try!

SNK VS. CAPCOM: SVC CHAOS

SVC Chaos!

Great port. The achievement support is nice to have, also all hidden characters. Just whish they show up in the roster select like in the hacked rom version :P Online seems to be non functional only 4 players appear on the leaderboard and the top hold 4Billion wins.. hehe.

THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIV GALAXY EDITION

cool game

System Shock

Great, but...

As most are positive reviews (which are also valid views) I will list my gripes with the game: - Music is not as good as Greg's LoPiccolo original. All BG music remains unisteresting up onto hitting the exec suites. But then only the exec suits, then the tracks are not as memorable. - There's significant performance drops on certain areas. Mostly the Grooves. Some open areas with lots of enemies also can cause stability issues. - There's a big chance you can loop into a crash after exiting cyerspace from an specific point. I managed to get pass this by lowering all settings to minimum. Again this could be patched by now but it's a thing. - This game was revolutionary also due to it's physics engine. Originally you could crouch, lean and crawl on the floor, mostly because the original was not designed so much on to the combat so the idea was to take pot shots from cover. Now you can only crouch and lean which is esentially less features than the original. - The whole ending sequence/fight is very dissapointing. Granted these games (shock I & 2) are not remembered by exceptional final boss fights but somehow this version makes it worst than the original.

Cyber Shadow

Solid Base and Awesome!

I remember when I used to turn on the NES and let the Ninja Gaiden Cinematic to play out, it will hype me to go and reach the castle Cinematic. I couldn't beat the game at that time. I get the same vibe now... Cyber Shadow is influenced by Ninja Gaiden but Also Shatterhand and Ninja Warriors. You start with a shell of your former self but once you progress you become a Cyborg Splitting Machine just like in the opening cinematic. You had to cheat to beat the original Ninja Gaiden, making enemies de-spawn and most of time getting killed by the lag caused by the NES hardware, insane flickering, etc. In Cyber Shadow it's all skill based. Many people get angry for the controls, the knockback on every hit, not been able to rebind the parry move. It helps if you also like Fighting games since the moves you acquire are based on movement- All together makes it replayable and fun. Also there's a remarkable sense of progression embedded in the game. So no doubts and go for it! a great game that every ninja - platformer lover should have! This game, it's atmosphere and soundtrack are top notch!
