I have a lot of memories from this game. Boot good and less good. But overall the feeling from Freespace 1 is one glowing thing of beauty. I've not given the highest rating due to the somewhat aged graphics, by today's standard at least. Also the high number of keyboard combinations to remember is cumbersome. But all in all this is one mother of a game. Only superceeded by Freespace2. A story to die for, and told with power. Mmmmmm :)
This game is on my list of "all time best"! It has very good story, great voice acting and the general message in the story is extremly compelling. It is not perfect; there are some quirks like the sub par pathfinding of units. But all this is minor issues. All and all this is clear winner on every level. I have played 100% several times and allways seem to come back again and again.
