Although this graphics show the age of the game, they do not hint at the depth and complexity of the game. When I first started playing this game, I nearly gave up on it. But, rather than abandoning my investment, I played on for awhile... 5 hours later I was trying to decide whether to go to sleep or take just one more turn. Conquest of the New World is an amazingly addictive game. Anyone who has an interest in turn-based strategy games should definately take this one for a spin!
I am a big fan of turn-based strategy games, and this is definately one of the best TBS games out there. There is a great variety of races and units. For me, the greatest challenge to overcome is simply the limitations the game places on you for building units each turn. It is very fair and a realistic/excellent system, but it takes a little getting used to. Once I got used to it though, it is incredible. Another aspect that I find interesting about this game is the importane of the heroes in this game. By fully exploiting a hero's special ability, a player can find many of the abilities lending tremendous impacts to each scenario. I would definately recommend this to anyone who is a fan of TBS games. Two thumbs way up!
