BEAUTIFUL DESOLATION Deluxe Edition

Poorly implemented. Poorly told.

First, this is point-n-click. It doesn't need 3D and could be perfectly fine with pseudo 3D taking less space on drive. Especially when you cann't rotate camera only zoom in/out. Second, story underdevelopped and poorly told. It's just don't keep attention. Character development shown only through dialog and have no concequences in gameplay, dialogs could be turned differently but will end only in one point anyway. And again no matter what you do except few points in plot it doesn't' matter. And there no place for "why?" the whole story has no reason. Third, overuse and abuse of moving here and there (without doiing anythig, just moving). There NPC you can talk and then you should leave go here and there, return and he will continue his story. All of it for location of treasure this NPC will give you. There are literraly locations with only one gold thing in it and nothing else to do. Also you cann't just click on exit marker and leave, you must move to that marker first and after that only you could click to exit location. Even one way actions broken up into at least two steps adding nothing to gameplay. Fourth, trade system is linear as hell. You can by only stuff to progress through game. You can by it for credits, which you will get in exchange for gold, and gold supply is exactly enpugh to by all the stuff. Fifth, some quest could be completed in different ways and again it doesn't matter which you take, just some dialogs will be played and other will be cut. This hurts the story, brakes it into peaces.

Raji: An Ancient Epic

Some sort of disappointment

Music - epic, visuals - god, story - short, controls - poor. I'm not using WASD, and remapped controls and after I've launched game to continue one of keys unmapped. It was very unpleasant considering action mapped to it. In puzzle solving my keys partialy ignored and that non-interesting process become anoying. Camera movement is not under player control, so you run (well walk) forward and start to turn left or right depending on camera rotation in this waypoint. Long and meaningless marches which adds nothing to game. Combat system... could be better explained. I've got undestanding of why Raji reacts in such weird manner only at the end of the game and all combat become super-easy and so borring. Otherwise good, solid game. But too short.

VVVVVV

Good way to become really cool

Game controls are such weird and mind-bending you should be ultra cool to play it through. And yes it is fun.

Aragami

Could use some polish

Good story, good idea behind game mechanics, not that good implementation. First, control. They sometime not responsive enough. Second, level design - some levels should be divided in smaller chunks. Third, shadow essence enormous consumption.

SUPERHOT

Time move with you, they said

First time moves constantly. Bullets are slowly fly. Cars slowly moving. You got white on white interface which is very useful. You expected to be pixel perfect when targeting. While opponents handle gun it has infinite ammo and fires like a machine gun, when you take it become almost manually reloaded and got finite random number of ammo. And whole game is tiny. Not worse the money spent.

Nanotale - Typing Chronicles

Short and poorly thought

This one feels really short comparing to Epystory. Story doesn't developed well, chapters running through too fast. Magic system is actually limited and there no good reason to explore it. Most of the time you spend running from one point on map to another. Experience system looks completely parallel to main story development.

Blades of Time

Solid slasher average story

Really good graphics, a bit weird combat system. It's a way to relax your brains and just slash and jump. Surprisingly it requires not that big machine to run.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs

Click. Die. Two loading screens.

There are lot of text split into chunks and you cann't just read it in one peace. You need resources and they are gathered in "dungeons" and the only thing you do there - die. Battle system is unbalanced and weird and you thrown right against enemies having about 5 levels above you. It also about time and the only thing you do with it is wasting: leave dungeon prematurely and you lost all the days for explore it. Relations... they provide almost nothing for you except wasting time. And loading screens - they everywhere, they wait you after almost any click.

Druidstone: The Secret of the Menhir Forest

How to not make a game

It is so unbalanced that become BORING just after second mission. Characters are... not thought at all: they slow and weak and nothing can help you here. Storytelling terrible, jumping text bubble is really annoying and besides story part doesn't add anything to gameplay. Camera fly-by on every ability use (nomatter who) is super annoying. Abilities has limited use PER BATTLE and even really vital too.

Overlord + Raising Hell

Solid, but short

It ends so sudden, that it feels like game design was just cut at some point. Also minion swipe is the thing to bother you time to time.
