If you like 2D platform games, search no more. This game has it all. Insteresting story about a world that once thrived (what happened?). The gradual build up of difficulty and gathering new skills etc. is very good, the pacing is perfect. The world is huge and 'continuous', by that I mean there are pretty much no loading screens when travelling around the world. There's a clever fast-travel system. Many interesting characters throughout the world (some friendly, some hostile) Some bosses are really, really challenging. There many places to explore, each with their unique atmosphere and enemies. This game is a true platformer gem. Definitely buy it if it's on a discount, but considering the content and quality you get, it's worth more than even its full price if you ask me.
I want to get this out of the way first; this game is FULL of dialogue. If you love a point and click adventure game that is full of story and background, I say no more. Get it, The RPG element is interesting, your strong and weak points determine if you can or can't do/ask/question/wonder/talk or think to yourself about certain tasks/things as a detective. The world's atmosphere reminds me of a noir detective in a world full of conspiracies, there's a story to unfold and plenty of freedom to be a "good cop" or a "bad cop" or whatever you want to be, and a side to choose from (or don't choose at all).
Fun game. The controls are tight, walking around, clicking on things, the combat, the inventory/skills/quests menu's. It all feels very intuitive and easy to control and navigate. The controls, combat and menu's feel very polished. Your starting point in the story is interesting. The world seems bizarre and grotesque and I get an urge to wanting to find out what the hell is going on in this world. There's a crafting system (I haven't progressed far enough to really make use of it apart from 1 item) which is an interesting feature, skills, cyber implants, and enough items to make your choices interesting. However, when it comes to quests and the ingame world, at this point in development, there's pretty much only a main quest to follow and the world and the places you visit feel a bit empty and repetitive. Despite the characters, who can be very interesting, the buildings and their interiors seem like copies of eachother. Hopefully this gets improved in the future. For me this is a major lacking point. TLDR; Overall the game feels very polished and is fun to play. It doesn't feel finished yet when it comes to sidequests and "fullness" of the world. It's a fun experience if you don't mind following a main quest only and you love an isometric topdown combat/stealth adventure game.
This game surprised me. It reminds me of the original Prince of Persia, without the swordfighting but with fun puzzles (there is a bit where you can "fight" though but I won't spoil...). When it comes to running and jumping, reaching for ledges and climbing up, timing your jumps. It has very similar mechanics to Prince of Persia and they are smooth! The controls are tight. The difficulty curve is perfect, it starts out easy and gets harder as the game progresses but it never becomes too hard. The story is fun and has a lot of humor and makes you think about the reality of what's going on in the game... There are some trippy parts. All in all a very fun platformer experience!
