There's a lot to like about F:T, but there's one big problem. It's not actually all that much fun. I'm sure that some will (legitimately) disagree, but I found it impossible to do well in the game without a great deal of saving and reloading. Having one of my troopers eat a headshot+crit and fall over dead in the first three seconds of storming the gates == reload and try again. That's not strategy or tactics, that's just time travel.
Up there with X-Wing and TIE Fighter as one of the finest examples of its genre. If you like flying fighters off capital ships and getting into furballs with enemy aces, shooting plasma bolts and missiles, then don't think twice. Just get it.
