Blade & Bones

Pretty game, bad combat

The game has some good art direction but it's combat is just awful. There's a huge windup for attacks that makes even the most basic one a pain the butt to use. The game is supposed to have some kind of combo system by clicking to first attack then clicking at the right time for fallow up attacks BUT there's nothing to tell you WHEN to click for the combo. The tutorial don't tell you and there's no visual or audio feedback showing when. There's also a delay for using a dodge roll which means you'll most likely get hit after pressing the dodge button just waiting for the animation to actually play. Enemies also constantly get caught up on geometry and bug out to the point that they can't be hit at all.

Redline

Interesting ideas, poor execution

Redline feels like it was a car combat game first and a FPS second. The vehicle parts I found to be the best parts (outside of some bosses) and they had some really neat ideas with lots of weapons and pickups to find. The FPS part on the other hand was really lacking. Level design is annoying and I found the whole game to be overly dark without as much of a flashlight to help you see where you are going. Enemies also have a tendency to pop out of no where. I did enjoy the music as well as the really neat animations when swapping weapons. You only get one weapon but it has multiple modes for things like rockets and shotguns. The animations that play when you swap between modes are really neat. Overall I would say get this game cheap and give it a try. It's got some nifty ideas but due to poor execution they don't play out as well as I would have hoped, that said, you may find it more enjoyable.
