Once again Ys does it with a solid entry in the franchise. I may not argue it as my favorite so far (I still favor 2 as the one to perfect the formula of the original), but not being my favorite out of a series I have generally loved so far does not make it a bad game in any way. If you like action adventure games and don't mind something that is a bit more simplified then this genre usually is, it's a very solid game to pick up and play. Have fun!

I have to say my first time playing a "modern" style Ys game has left a pretty damn good impression. Fast, fun, and action packed, I enjoyed the hell out of this game and if you are a fan of action adventure games, I can easily say check this one out. Just go understanding this is a linear game that cuts to just the moment to moment combat game and plays this exceptionally well instead of actually wandering around an open world. Also do not go in expecting to get anything out of the "replay" with the other character, because it's basically not there. What is here is great, just a bit more limited in scope then other games even in this series (that I have played so far).
Ys I is regarded as a classic retro game by most who have been able to play it. And it earns this title with ease. However, due to the game’s most common versions being on systems that didn’t really make it in the US, it is also a lost classic… but a flawed one. There is a lot of good to be had here, but some baffling decisions hold it back from being one of the best classic games you have never had the chance to play... And Ys II is basically the game I wish Ys I was. The original was a classic title and made it obvious to see why, but it also made mistakes that could never be overlooked and prevented the game from being possibly one of the best of it’s time. Ys II seems to have been made to fix that, and is overall a much better game because of it.

What really can I say about this game? While not perfect, it is an absolutely amazing FPS title that anyone who enjoys their action games will love. Tight gun-play, well made maps to use to your advantage (for the most part) a killer sound track and willing to not take itself too seriously and just enjoy the ride, this is one of those games I would recommend most people play. I can really point to one part in the entire game that doesn't hit it out of the park (and I refuse to give the spoiler related). It's been a while since I played a game that had me going "well let's see what's next before we call it for the night" until past 11 in the evening, and it felt great to get into one.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is a very good, albeit very short game in the franchise. Made as an excuse to play with the parts used to make The New Order, it lives up to the original for the most part, improving in some ways, and falling back in others. If you enjoy your old school shooters, you really should check this one out. And if you like what you played, it might well be worth opening up the next chapter this is a prequel to.

Wolfenstein is a very good title, but it is not a great one. In almost every way possible, the game does a very good job, but at the same time falls short of what one would want from one of the first true “next generation” titles. Instead, it falls a lot more on the old ways, mixing them with current where possible. But never really standing out as something new and all it’s own. If you are a fan of the franchise, I recommend picking it up when you can, for it will not disappoint (aside from that ending). But if you are just looking for a new FPS game to play, you might want to wait on this one till it’s dropped in price some. It just isn’t special enough to warrant grabbing it while it’s still relatively new on the shelves.

Going into this game, I knew I was going to enjoy it. True it was as much movie as game, but it owns this completely, enveloping the player in the plot and environment incredibly well. If you love getting wrapped up in the world and characters that inhabit it, step on in. This game is for you. But if you came in expecting a more classic game-type, you are coming in for the wrong reason. It might still be worth your time, but it’s not going to be what you were looking for.

Right now, I am really glad this game came from a humble bundle and I didn't actually pay for it on it's own. I would be livid with this tripe if I had actually bought it. As it is, I stand dumbfounded on just how far one developer can climb up their own *** in a desperate attempt to look profound without "cancelling sequels they never announced." Give this game a skip. It looks nice, but it really doesn't offer anything else but some pretty scenery.

While I went into this game expecting very little, I have to admit it pleasantly surprised me. The amount of content for it's current asking price seems a little steep, but what is here ranged from good to exceptional, carrying the experience side of a game much better then many games who live off it. While I would recommend waiting for a good strong sale before picking it up, that is more about quantity then quality as I can personally attest I finished the game in about 3 hours trying to do everything I could find. What is here is superb, it just doesn't last.

Undertale is perhaps one of the best surprises to pop out of the gaming scene, and manages to remain so well after you see a few screens of the game. In fact, it will keep you happily guessing what is going to happen next, as well as perhaps even what the hell just happened. This game really is simply a joy to play, and if you are a fan of console-style RPGs, but looking for something genuinely new, look no further. Undertale is that something new dressed up in VERY old-style graphics. And while it’s extremely short for an RPG, it’s also so cheap that I find it hard to believe anyone will complain.
