Kyle Thompson is my favourite indie game developer. All of his games look beautiful and are absolute joy to play.
Pros: - you go FAST in this game - movment and controls just feel right - wonderful soundtrack - pretty pixel art Cons: - to get a normal ending you have to backtrack and collect bunch of items (I hate when games do that) - constant switching between abilities hurts pacing a little bit
Pros: - pretty graphics - great ost (Steam Powered Giraffe did amazing work as always) - naval combat and exploration is really fun - addicting gameplay (I lost count how many times I said: "just one more turn") Cons: - way too grindy (pacing was better in the first game)
Someone once described this game as a chill precision platformer. You get challenge typical for the genre but thanks to placing custom checkpoints it becomes much more fun. Also that music! They put their whole pus... I mean heart into soundtrack.
Angry Video Game Nerd is a solid portion of retro inspired platforming fun. You don't have to know or even like James Rolfe to have a great time.
Every new entry in this series is better than previous one. I don't know how Devcats do this. How do they even use computers with their little paws?
Some people may call The Detroit After glorified Hotline Miami mod with no personality of its own but I don't care. Why should I when the game is so fun to play?
