Heroes of Hammerwatch

Instant classic

Faith in gaming restored. This is pure art. Tight gameplay controls, replay potential, coop, good music...It hits all the right notes for a ridiculous price.

Gemini Rue

Best point-n-click game Ive ever played

These 3-4 star reviews are WRONG! This is a true masterpiece! The atmosphere, the art, the plot twist. Would give this 6 stars if I could.

Play Tales of Maj Eyal instead

This is hardly a roguelike, just some tile based dungeon crawler with perma death. Very lacking in mechanics/depth/content. Not worth half of the price tag. Decent pixel graphics and thats about it.

Decent clone but way too simple

This game will surelty scratch your itch for that grid based old school dungeon crawling, it is a grimrock clone and a decent one. But honestly it feels botched, very simplistic maps and puzzles, around halfway through the game you get one of your hardest puzzles; press 4 buttons to open 4 doors in the right order... The game barely has any secrets and you dont feel like searching for them. Pretty much every key action you make (open a door/ pull a lever/ push a button) spawn enemies, so it is much more focused on action as on puzzles like grimrock. My main gripe with combat (which happens alot) is that you have only 1 action with your movement, and you cannot use your secondary weapon waiting on the CD, basically removing combat options and dumbing it down to waiting for your 1 CD weapon to reaload while dodging. I kind of expected the game to played that way so i picked a tank class so i can just sit in monsters faces and spam click them, that way i progress faster through the game. TL;DR Buy it if its on sale
