I really wanted to like this game for its premise, but the game-y mechanics just hold it back from allowing any emergent narrative or fun from happening. You can't pause when pixel-hunting to place furniture (which will become a frustrating issue for you), and the degradation rate of everything is behind ridiculous. You'll find yourself fighting against filters and buckets that break down within minutes of completion as everyone whines about hygiene or food. The automation option doesn't work out very well. Allowing them to go about their business on their own will cause you grief, but also micromanaging them without it so that they don't die of thirst next to a bucket of water will also frustrate you. This game feels like a chore to play.
