Duke Nukem began as a pc clone of you basic platform game. basically you left a trail of destruction in your wake and earned points depending how much you destroyed. in the wake of 3 other apogee attempts to recreate the madness of wolfenstine 3d in 1991. apogee decided to try another method. taking rott's disregard for political correctness to the next level duke took on both doom and quake and lived to tell about it. the built engine that powers duke allows for tricks that an full 3d title could not do such as buildings that are bigger on the inside. This game keeps all of the violence tha made duke a legend in 2d and basically you kill any thing that moves and shoots at you. keeping NPC's from the blake stone games you run in to civilians witch you are punished by the game for shooting. Back when it first came out it was pretty controversial for its content but it set the bar higher for content in games.
basicall this game takes the modern version of duke nukem seen in duke 3d and puts him back on his good side. basically an 3d rendered update to the old duke games worth a play if you liked ther orignal duke games if you only played 3d gives you a chance to paly duke as it used to be played.
This is blake stone's version of sod. You finally get the chance to finish what you started in AOG while this is not an major leap from the last game it has some changes to game play. to exit levels you must fine a bomb to remove a security cube to pass to the next level instead of the last game where you needed a red key card. you also can detonate ammo pickups with certain weapons. while this was JAM's last title and could not compete with the release of doom 2 it still is worth a play for any fps fan.
This game was an major leap from wolfenstine 3d adding automap. it also includer features id would not get to untill the quake series adding the ability to jump between levels and npc's witch could be interrogated for ammo and credits that can later raise your health. but doom came out adding more flexibility in level construction then was possiable with the wolf 3d engine.
