A well-written story provides many hours of entertainment while investigating the mystery. Players can choose their approach to solving the game's many challenging scenarios, and even change the course of the story with decisions that affect its progress.

This was a tremendous disappointment after the excellent first game. Deus Ex: Invisible War is a scaled-down, "console-ized" offering where the developers hoped to increase sales to console owners instead of creating a masterpiece sequel. They tried to capitalize of the then-ongoing Iraq War with the subtitle of "The Future War on Terror", which only made it seem that much worse. Hopefully, this will all turn out to be a simulation in the mind of some artificial intelligence and can be safely removed from the canon. Hopefully the original Deus Ex will provide a true sequel, as there is still plenty of time to set it after the original and before this awful offering. There is still a decent game here, dispute the direction the story takes, and the game is worth the current price of $0.97. The four possible endings could not manage a decent one, as not one is satisfactory to be considered the "good" ending. It's little wonder why the developers chose to create a prequel for their next project, which turned out to be one of the best games ever.
