A confusing, polished mess of a game.
Overly dark and dour game in a hopeless world.
Despite its limited engine, it manages to provide an excellent, compelling story with many hours of interesting gameplay. Very much looking forward to Anachronox 2.
Parody is protected under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. I wish they would have kept the original name. A perfect translation of fremetic and visceral shooters from the 1990s. Wolfenstein and Doom are properly honored by this game.
Although the NES was not a great place for this type of interface, this game increased my interest in PC games and helped me to graduate from consoles and move on to more sophisticated gameplay. Unless the interface has been redesigned to make use of a mouse, I am uncertain how much modern audiences will be able to get into it.
