Memoranda

Very atmospheric but very short

The game that doesn't offer perfect gameplay but has totally unique atmosphere. The real gem is the music, it is VERY emotional and fits to corresponding surreal locations. The world feels like a series of interconnected dreams inhabited by characters you wouldn't believe can coexist. And the logic of puzzles can sometimes blow your brain because it is too evident. One of the disadvantages is the location opening system. Sometimes you can't travel to a place just because the developers don't allow you to use that road. And later you can use that road because you "learned" about the location. Similarly some of the locations become obsolete and you can't travel to them after some events. The last part of the game feels a bit crumpled. The world contains unused characters, there are some logical bugs (e.g. you can still talk with "sleeping" Jack). I have the impression that the game was planned to be much longer. some locations are present on the map but you don't visit them at all. Well, it is an indie game after all. I recommend you to experience the feeling of this game. It is the piece of art no matter what.

SOMA

Great atmospheric horror

I received this game for free during some sale but I'd definitely buy it if I knew about it earlier. This is the first game which made me feel like I'm playing Silent Hill 2 / 3 / 4 again. Also sometimes it felt like "Subnautica on foot", if you played that game, you'll understand what I'm trying to say :) What I liked: * Immersive gameplay with realistic sense of oppressive fear. You are afraid for long periods of time, not scare for a moment after some "screamers". * Perfectly fit ambient sound. Does 40% of the atmosphere. * Really scary invincible enemies. You just want to get away really fast without them seeing you. * Good voice acting, not perfect but good. * Great plot forcing you to make some decisions and thinking. * Very interesing idea with visual distortions, don't turn them off. They make another 20% of the atmosphere like that radio in Silent Hill. * Sometimes it's hard to orient and even to see with your eyes, thanks to distortions and carefully chosen lighting, quite challenging. What I disliked: * Bad optimization. The performance sometimes is very bad even on quite average settings. The always lags fro a minute when loading save and during location transitions via airlocks. Fallout 4 and Witcher III work much better on the same PC. * Most of the enemies don't kill you even after several blows. So sometimes it felt a bit easier than I wished. But at the same time some other episodes were quite challenging. In any case the game is totally worth the money and the time. I completed it for only 15 hours and I'm very slow, always search all the areas and read all texts.

Full Throttle Remastered

Best remaster I've ever seen

The best old game remastering I've ever seen in my life! Outstanding graphics and enhanced sound, a pack of goodies like concept arts which I always enjoy. Especially loved the ability to compare the new game with the old one "on the fly" by hitting one button! Also thanks for the full gamepad support. Of course, some minor bugs are present but they don't bother the player too much: 1. Strange "item highlighting" system. Sometimes it highlights inexistent items or doesn't highlight some of the existing ones. In some locations it doesn't work at all. I just stopped using it after some time :) Why did you add it anyway? 2. Some minor action menu bugs, maybe they are on gamepad only. For example, the "minefield" menu hides when you stop pressing the button unlike with the other items. 3. Lots of weapon bugs in the old mine road fighting scenes. For example, when you fight the cavefish with the wooden plank, the chain is shown instead :)
