A.D. 2044

Bugs after a while

The game is pretty boring, basically it is pixel hunting, and at the level where you go into the radiation room it simply gives up after giving you a pop up in Polish.

Deep Diving Simulator

Waiting for a patch

Seems I am not the only one who thinks that moving around, accelarating and aiming is pretty broken. The forward / backwards topleft joystick is slow (left and right don't work at all). The downright joystick (left / right / up / down) reacts too fast. The sensivity controller settings inside the game doesn't seem to work at all. Aiming at a small fish (healing process) is just a matter of luck, and even trying to hit a shark is frustrating and will only scare it away for a couple of minutes.

Syberia 3: The Complete Journey

Lots of atmosphere, fails technically

I was going to give this game 4 stars, because the 'Sokal' atmosphere is - well - great, a welcome return to the weird world of Syberia. Just have a look at the Youkol market and try not to be impressed. I think I roamed about an hour in that place, because it was so much fun and so... alive. I was willing to forgive the odd camera positions that make you go into the wrong direction, the wonky point and click system, the mystery of the disappearing mouse after nearly every click. But then, nearly at the end, there were a few bugs too many. The game freezing after an encounter with the blacksmith with only Ctrl-Alt-Del to resolve the situation (restart the game - windowed - at the lowest resolution got me through it) or the one-way gate that let you enter a certain area, but it doesn't allow you to leave it afterwards. The ending clearly hints for a Syberia 4 to happen, hopefully it will not take another decade.

Fallen Haven

Nostalgia

Still got my Fallen Heaven CD, but if failed to install on newer systems. Good fun for nostalgia sake, even if the game is a bit simple.

ABZÛ

Not much of a game

I think we all agree that this piece of software is beautiful and that one could speak from an experience, rather than a game. But there are some minuses. The game is too simple (I read here that someone calls it an interactive screen saver) and the achievements don't work on Gog, like swimming through a school of fish, cathing the hidden shells and activating the pools with the trapped fishes. These do work on Steam though, but on Gog there is simply no incentive to play the game over again. As someone who uses a Belgium AZERTY keyboard, I find it pretty insulting that you can't reconfigure the keys. Up, Down, Ledft & Right are placed completely arbitrary on such a keyboard.
