Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis™

One Of The Best Adventure Games Ever

I am doing this review based on the Amiga version I played "many years ago. For me this game surpassed the Monkey Island games, which although they were great in themselves, "Altantis" was just so much bigger. Had 3 different ways to complete it, had a great rip roaring story to boot and had great moments. Puzzles vary in complexity, but there are always logical ways to complete them. When the 4th Indiana film came out (Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) I was really disappointed it was not based on the plot of this game. It would have been so much better. All in all (for me at any rate) this is one of the best point & click adventure games ever. :)

Earth 2140 Trilogy

A Paper Tiger

Writing this review makes me very sad because I really support what GOG does......usually. The original game was Europe's answer to C&C. The original game had a great selection of units, the original game had great AI, the original game had multiplayer. This version on sale here is not the original version. It does have both the mission packs and that is a good thing because it gives you those extra units, but it is the only good thing it has. All the other things I mentioned above are missing. This Windows version is crippled and unplayable in my view. If you enjoy building up an attack force just to roll over a nearly defenseless enemy, then go for it. Me? I like an RTS to challenge me and the original DOS (and Amiga-Mac ports) did just that. GOG must have been conned into buying the rights to this version. I am sure they thought they were getting the real thing, not the crippled mess this is. As such I can't recommend it to anyone. Go for the 2150 series instead.

Deus Ex™ GOTY Edition

One Down One To Go

Deus Ex has rightly been called the best PC game ever. The music, story, missions, characters, all great. In fact, there is only one game that could possibly touch it and it's not on GOG yet. That game is System Shock II. To call yourself a gamer, these must both be in your collection. C`mon GOG, try and get SSII on deck also! Anyways, very well done to GOG for getting this Warren Spector masterpiece.
