Two Worlds Epic Edition

Flawed, but eventually safisfying

I played this (non epic version) when it first released back during 07, and despite it being oddly bad, I finished the game with about 90 hours played. That is to say, this game is actually kind of good. Diablo, Gothic, and Oblivion made a baby, and most of the gene combinations gave rise to the things you didn't like, but still, it's hard to be a really bad game when you are taking ideas from 3 excellent titles. If you're bored with 10 bucks to burn, this isn't the worst title you'll purchase this year.

Beyond Divinity

Wanted to like it

This game suffered from one big mistake. Apparently none of the designers had heard the old saying, "if it's not broken, don't fix it." They revamped the skill system that was very very good from DD into a system that required too much specialization. This in turn created a sense of boredom on the character development side. They also made the first dungeon as boring as possible. Seems they didn't take the many hints they received from the first games feedback (starter dungeon there sucked too). If you manage to get through the opening 10 hours the game definitely gets better, never finished it though. There is some enjoyment to be had here, but if you are looking for the same genius as DD, replay that game with a new build instead.
