If you read the books first, the expirience in the game will be much better. If you like books like the song of ice and fire or the lord of the rings so you should read the geralt saga before playing the games. you will understand much more and get more jokes when you have already read them. And the game is simply a sequel to the books and it doesnt explain all the things.
