I got used to Wadjet eye games to provide high to very high quality point and clicks, and was rather disappointed with this one. While the premise ghost-noir cliché is nice, none of the game in the series feel really finished and all but one feel like a student project more than a fully developed game. Even the texts feel rushed... I guess this is really the early designs by the developper, as unavowed has the same kind of world feeling in it but feels much more polished.
First, for those who missed it : Shadowrun = cyberpunk fantasy. You got guns, dekkers, orcs and shamans... Get the Gibson feel with fantasy rims. Got this game on Android before they pulled it from the Glorgle store (am still upset I paid for this and will never buy from that store again). Here I'll stick to the main game and skip the platform specific issues. I got stuck initially with a poorly chosen built. So.. started again with a hacker/sniper and rolled through the game. Now this is a very linear RPG, but the story is great, the music fits perfectly with the Shadowrun world.. and your team members are not just guns for hire to fill in your combat specs but really team mates, with each a personal story leading to living in the shadows. The game is really combat oriented (not so many runs where you can skip combat, even though there are a few, but I felt game mechanics kind of reward the fighters more than the side-steppers.) A nice Shadowrun experience.
Played most Bethesda games from Daggerfall to Skyrim and New Vegas. This one is their best game ever, and probably will stay that way a long time as things go. The world is large enough to be believable, without the whole monsters 200m from villagers but hey don"t see eachother thing. Real world has empty spaces, as does Morrowind. The main quest is as good as the side quests are, and this is their best attempt at creating a world you can actually believe in, where caves are not endless but linear structures, habitations feel like they could be used IRL... Leveling system is nice, spell also, no time lost in useless crafting but enough customization that your character plays like you want it... I consider this one of the best First Person action RPG
