The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY Edition

The most emotional experience ever

I give this game a 4 out of 5 because no game is perfect. In what ways this game is not perfect? The music is only 45 minutes long for a game that does not tell you when to finish your daily gaming time with this work of art, the bugs with the followers, the problem with the text font that now looks horrible while with the old bulky monitors it had a reason to be like that. But I would say that the most important problem is the game does to you after you completed the main quest the first time, the world you just experienced in your heart, that emotional bang. I hope Bethesda amends this, for the sake of us all, because now what I most miss is not the countless hours that happpened afterwards, but the first 30-minute-gameplays.

Wasteland 1: The Original Classic

Not great, not terrible

Let's be honest: I bought this after playing Fallout 1 (the whole) and 2 (not even middle game). This game is one of the most unrewarding experiences ever to say the least, I had to orchestrate a lot by making some characters "evade" in order for someone to get the final exp points, and that is annoying because you want your characters to grow and this game is anti-development. After 13 hours of gameplay I said enough. The inclusion of the ok but not great soundtrack made my gameplay NOT better, because it suffers the Morrowind problem with the random selection, like church music in Highpool when it should be sounding in Needles' Temple, and that makes me wish to turn it off after 40 minutes playing. This is fixed in the Remastered version, which makes the experience more immersive. It shocks me that I did not have a proper explanation about how the same sytem works, which I believe is more dangerous than going to Las Vegas at Lv 1. No words here, this is lazy design that turned my gameplay into a miserable one becasuse I did not understand how it worked. Again, this is fixed in the Remastered with its own save list system. But that does not mean I like the Remaster better. 3 stars and I am very kind.

Unreal Gold

underrated

It works ok on my Win 8.1 laptop but with the Glide renderer on. Directx makes it slow and software makes it windowed and no sound. Unreal is no Doom, and it is sad that it stands in the shadow of that horrible mess "that should not have been made" called Quake, but it is fun. The graphics make the game better when you turn on the music, which is the body and soul of this product, really nice work from the composers, who also try to save it from the meh ending after a meh battle with a meh Alien inspired thing. Thanks GOG.
