Myst

It is Myst

Yes by now if your a fan of Myst like myself you have played many a Myst across several versions of Windows, or even a few consoles. Now you ask yourself, why would I want this one if I own one version of it? Well Honestly it looks the absolute best from the collection of the titles easily. With the option of VR to boot. Some of the downsides to it is the original content or FMV is long gone due to being lost to the tides of time. The game is built from the ground up impressively. It feels like I am playing the game for the first time again. If the price is a little much for you its worth a purchase, even if you own different versions for some quality of life navigation.

Mortal Shell

Not a "SUPERIOR SOULS" But really great

Until now we have seen many games inspire off of Souls, all borrowing, doing great jobs towards the style sake. However never truly perfecting. Once you played the first souls game that seasoning in your fingers is just there, and you expect less, and can know what your in for. Mortal Shell comes in and showing its aware its element borrowing. Becoming its own thing. The back drops, sound, gameplay all flow awesome. The usual "tricks" of souls are also there. "So take that!" blah blah blah. The game itself deserves its own attention surely on its own unique style from the "Souls" style. But should i never be considered a "replacement". With all of that out of the way. I found the game fantastic. Your unique feature to the game is changing shells, with slightly different move sets, stats, and the lot. You unlock passives as you grind for enemies throughout the game. Which feels like its required. Enemies have their usual movesets. With that comes a unique ability I mentioned sort of before, you Stoneskin (as I nicknamed it). This blocks/nulls all damage. For One hit. The bosses are all pretty challenging, and offer that true example of trial and error, until you figure out a good strategy. You have a big world you explore, finding Shells to unlock and use as apart of your arsenal. This is all fun to find, and use. Lore, and the usual fray is intact, as well as exploration is a big thing. Your left a little blind, unless your hunting for a new weapon, which are all located in certain "dungeon" or cave locations, which require a challenge to grant to your collection, which if your trying to swap to often, requires you to go to your camp to trade, which is a bummer, Vs just having it in your pocket and swap to, which isn't "Superior". Person down below needs a snack and a nap I think! They are over thinking the experience. While it is a incredible game, its not beating anything, other then standing on its own, and being outstanding!

Ultima™ Underworld 1+2

One of true catalysts for gens to come

Aside from Catacomb 3-D predating this game, it comes out a few months before even Wolfenstein 3d mentioned below. Showing impressive elements ahead of its time, with a expansive element of a map system, and tons of loot to locate as you transverse dank dark dungeons. Meeting friends or a few foes. Its free from this posting of this, do not wishlist it, but GRAB IT NOW. along with the other freebies!
