Like, goodness gracious, I knwot his is exactly what I signed up for when I got realistic mode in one of my first cities ever... but god... I love it. And I even love the whole soviet theme to the entire world. As someone who couldn't even get 10 hours into Cities Skylines as something always felt too... good to true, not to mention the stupid amount of DLCs it has... Pretty much 5-6 DLCs worth of content in Cities Skylines is included as base game in this Soviet-era depressive City Sim game... And I've thrown money at both the GoG and Steam version! Now I just wish for more achievements... and of course, I won't complain for a performance patch or two more after you guys take a break if at all possible. If not, that's alright, I'm still going to easily clock my first 100 hours of this game, and I'm aiming for 1000! TO THE WORKERS OF THE WORLD!
IF... you like the actual board game. Lemme put it the simplest way possible, this game is pretty much a virtual representation of the battles in real board games. That means that the stats are important... and so is time. A single turn can take forever in the larger unit amounts as the AI has to control each individual mob at a time and it shows you said movement. So suffice to say it can drag on. If you can get past that, it's actually a terrific game!
I leave this review well knowing what this game is about and how it plays, despite never playing it myself. It can be a trip, let me put it that way. A clunky, strange, trippy trip. Yet it was THE GAME for a while on its release because of its (strange) story. At the end of the day don't treat it like a game, more like a rollercoaster you're bound to and have no option to do anything but get to the end in the way it tells you to. ... Yup, that's about it. Still great tho.
Is it worth the full price tag... um... no. But if you're a hardcore fan of the game already as is, then I bet you'll love it nonetheless. At least NOW, unlike a year ago. Let's be honest, you've paid more in other games for less stuff added on it. Just ask Sims buyers.
Albeit the mobile version does lack a few things, but hear me out... It made me want to then get this game on PC, and the freaking content doesn't disappoint! As if I had any doubts about it. Overall, pfff.... have sunk maybe 400 hours in the game, haahhahh! But, I'd recommend getting it on sale, as it can still cost a hefty penny if you're not ready to spend on the whole thing.
