The 3rd game of the new Prince of Persia series brings us even more variaty in combat, but at the expense of the story. The game takes place where Warrior Within left and continues the plot from there. Combatwise, your moves list improve, along with your options for using the enviorment to your advantage. Graphics and audio are exactly what you'd expect from a game of this series. The story and dialog however feels just like a rushed fanfic. It just feels very generic, almost as if someone made a pure combat game, and in the last moment decided to add a story to it. As a standalone game - pretty good...as a Prince of Persia game - not very good.
The game that concludes the beloved Legacy of Kain series...and what better way to do so than mix both Blood Omen and Soul Reaver! This game combines the great action from the Blood Omen series and the incredible puzzles of Soul Reaver, as it allows you to control both Kain and Raziel (one at a time) trough various locations in search for their destiny. The visuals in this game are greatly improved, along with the animated cutscenes...and the same can be said for the music - it's just perfect and adds so much to the immersion. The only bad side to this game is that it marks the end of the series, while leaving some questions and events unclear or open for speculation.
This game decides to take the Prince of Persia series into a different path - more and better combat but less storyline. Graphic wise it's a bit improved over The Sands of Time. The music remains just as good as the tracks found in the previous games aswell. The combat is very fluid and the attack options are big in numbers, along with the possibility to use your surroundings as a weapon. Sadly though, the story is very bland and there's obviously less effort put into it that the previous entry in the series.
Starting right where Soul Reaver left, the game continues the story of Raziel, but this time with a few new twists and turns. Greatly improved graphics, mechanics and weapons are what await you here. The Soul Reaver weapon actually plays a lot bigger part in this game than it did ever before, and elemental enhancements will give you even more satisfaction from killing or open your way to progress. The music believe it or not has also been improved, keeping the same style of the original. Many MANY puzzles await you aswell. More complex, yet very intuitive. The only thing missing from the original are optional areas and optional powerups. If you liked the first Soul Reaver game, you will love this one.
I'm not the top RTS player, but this one is quite good...just the part that you advance between a lot of different time periods and goes from per-historic age to future-tech age is just something I really admire... Not really a "must own" but definitely a "worth playing".
