This game is both a tragedy and a comedy. Some of the best writing ever done for a video game, period. The world, and your character in particular, are dynamic, ever-changing, and just so alive. This is a must buy! It will have you laughing out loud, and it'll have you feeling your heartbreaking. Overall, it's just such a human story.
Along with the restored content mod (you will be able to get it to work on the GOG version, just google how) this game passes the first by. Great interesting characters that are complex and are fighting with the darkness (or light) in themselves, one of the most unique and compelling plots in the Star Wars franchise, and fun, tactical combat that can make you feel like a badass while still being difficult. If you enjoy RPG's, or Star Wars in general, you owe it to yourself to play this.
If, like me, you love to watch old horror movies, particularly with friends, this title definitely has something to offer. A legitimately interesting story that has dark turns that will surprise and shock you. Characters that'll make you groan, make you laugh, and make you sympathetic. And, most importantly, a level of campiness that keeps some of the frustration from running clicking on everything more tolerable. Of course the campiness is looking from a modern perspective, but I think it's an enjoyable part of the experience.
Pros: Fun, high energy combat Lots of moments that'll make you go "niiiiice" and have you wanting to do more Level design that lets you hit a room in a few different ways Cons: Short game The humor almost ALWAYS fall flat and makes you cringe a bit There's a sudden lull in the game that outstays its welcome where you just do platforming and it is extremely not fun
A really fun time if you have a guide and want to experience the zaniness of the game, but without a guide you may be left asking yourself, "What could I possibly do next?" and when you eventually find it, you'll just get more annoyed. There's a particularly difficult scene that depicts abuse, and some of the interactions between the protagonist and her husband are really uncomfortable. Regardless, I do think the main plot is fun to reveal, though the game lulls for the bulk (it is a shorter game at least).
The combat is fun, the characters are interesting, the settings are really cool. The game lets you be a martial artist travelling from a hot air balloon, to a palace, to villages, to a city, and all are convincing for the world. The decisions and the ways you mold your character are also interesting and feel like they have weight. Definitely recommend this old classic of Bioware's.
Incredible art style, animation, and characters. The story unrolls exactly how you think, but that's not necessarily that bad. Game was relatively short and I personally found the ending anti-climatic and somewhat frustrating, but overall its a great experience that I highly recommend.
A horror adventure game with a strong atmosphere and an artistic look on characters and their relationships. The visual style really accentuates the creepiness and the disgust that the game wants you to feel. Part of one of the strongest contemporary horror series around, this title does not let down. You come to care about the characters and about what the outcome will be for everyone, but these outcomes are where I believe the game falls short. Not in the "well this isn't what I wanted" way, but in the "seriously? These are the endings?" way. But that's my take, and I definitely encourage anyone reading this to try it out and come to their own conclusion!
