Installed this on my Win7 netbook as it claims to be compatible. Game ran horribly slow. After browsing forums I found a mod that fixed this, but caused all the colours to become a real mess. Unplayable either way. Disappointing. Apparently this is a known issue on Win7.
First off, I should point out that I'm using the original disc in DosBox, but I'm assured this is identical. This is one of my all-time favourite DOS games (alongside Terra Nova, which hasn't aged anywhere near as well) - Isometric shooting with intelligent puzzles and some real head-scratching moments. Hilarious (and hopefully ironic) cutscenes, and the best selection of weapons in any game ever. Well, except the sequel! The music is up there with Deus Ex and Syndicate. Throw aside your reservations about the odd-looking gameplay, and dive into the most satisfyingly destructive game ever. Literally everything can be annihilated! One last thing, since this is emulated in DosBox, it needs a bit of beef to run. My Samsung NC110 netbook doesn't do so well in this respect, despite running Freespace2 beautifully. You'll need to break out the desktop PC for this.
