Now that I've played half of the game, I would now like to also give my opinion on it. The characters of the game are all quite unique. Randal is very unappealing, but this makes this character out. I like him. The remaining characters are all allusions to Old series, movies or games. Some are very successful, others less so. The puzzles are sometimes illogical. Sometimes too easy. This is like the charm of old Adventures like Monkey Island did sometimes. (where you need 3 times say "but I want") Unfortunately, the developers could not implement this so well. The story of the game is very similar to the 80s and 90s. Where the original was clearly the movie Groundhog Day. It is solid and very fancy, but nothing new. The graphics convinced with the attention to detail and all the allusions to movies and games (and a lot of it), very well-drawn backgrounds and characters. TOP. The music is mainly suitable for the game, even if it is sometimes very melancholic. All in all, this game deserves 4 stars. Due to the puzzle there is a star less. Still recommended for adventure fans.
I must say that I enjoyed the first two hours of Halfway very much. The battle system is like a Xcom Lite, mixed with graphics reminiscent of the good old times (DOS). What I really like in the battle system is the hit accuracy. In Xcom if found it was all very random, here it is very balanced. There are enough positions on the map to tactical maneuvers to perform. The story is negligible, altough the minimal interactions with the NPCs. For the price and the attention to detail I can give this game 5 stars.
I played this game now 4 hours and must say, this is something new. On the one side you have classic tower defense elements, on the other something new. In the Defense genre its not normal, that something new happend in my opinion ;) whatever, i can say this is the best tower defense game this year... i recommend this game to every gogger who likes TD Games
