This game is great. The puzzles are challenging but not that annoying adventure game type where things just don't make sense. There were times I'd get confused about how to solve the situation but after messing around a bit I would be able to figure it out. I normally have a low threshold for tolerance for tedious or inane adventure game puzzles, so the fact that I enjoyed this game speaks volumes. The art is fantastic. The English voice overs are very well done, totally professional. Not as funny as I would have hoped for but it's good enough. Those looking for a fun and not annoying adventure game with great graphics should check it out. Why not 5 stars? People are too quick to give 5 stars on GOG. 5 out of 5 means unable to be perfected in any way. It's 100%. The game has some minor annoyances, and the story can sometimes be a little cheesy (and not in an endearing way). But it's certainly not enough to detract from the rest of the experience which is quite enjoyable. 4/5 is a high rating in my book, as I tend to rate rather harshly. For those adventure fans that grew up playing the more silly titles like Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island, etc, you'll find this title well worth the money.
Maybe it's because I never played these titles as a kid, but I was definitely not psyched when I tried them out for the first time recently. In both Ishar 1 and 2 I died on the very first battle. In Ishar 2, since you start out right away in battle (it's the bottom right screenshot btw pictured with the two guys in green and another guy further back) so not being able to go very far right at the start is really annoying. I tried 4 times and just died everytime. So I uninstalled it. I'd rather play Lands of Lore or Eye of the Beholder or Dungeon Master than this. Awful. Graphics are at least nice though.
