Imagine No Man's Sky but in 2D...

And I'm not talking just about the gameplay, this game has a similar development cycle and ended up being a massive disappointment in similar ways. The only difference is that unlike No Man's Sky, there is no comeback story here, and never will be. The developer/publisher had a few attempts to salvage the game, but they gave up after the first and only major post-release update (the one you see in the store banner), upon realizing they can make a lot more money by publishing games instead of making them. Really, just get No Man's Sky if your system can handle it, it'll scratch the same itch and it does it much, much better. This game is only good with mods, which is just another way of saying it utterly sucks on it's own.

Love it.

RimWorld

It's good.

I'm going to buy Tynan's book right now probably.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

Next gen upgrade is a bad joke.

Full disclosure, I'm someone who likes to bash ray tracing in general for having a huge performance impact while having almost no noticeable visual effect... but I genuinely can't tell what ray tracing does for this game, apart from make it run at 3 FPS in places where it ran at 90+ before. For the record, no, the next gen upgrade did not make the game better. In fact, seeing as it removed MSAA as an option, I'd argue it made it look worse in a way. Forget the fact that it still doesn't look nearly as good as the pre-release version, not even 7 years later, and probably runs worse too. Not impressed, I hope this streak of garbage releases doesn't force CD Projekt into bankruptcy, purely because I don't want to see GOG go down with them, but damn if they don't deserve it.

Saints Row IV: Re-Elected

Not DRM free anymore.

I tried to install it after I heard it got "upgraded" to the Re-Elected version, and was greeted by a setup trying to install the Epic Store Launcher. I managed to hit cancel on it but this is a new low even for GOG. They haven't learned anything after Hitman.

RimWorld - Ideology

Needs a lot of streamlining.

Being able to create your own ideology is nice in theory, problem is the interface for doing so it's horrendous. Particularly when it comes to changing Precepts, half of them disappear after I select them with seemingly no way of changing them again. The other half are all dumped into a single list that you're somehow meant to make sense of. Unless you want to play with randomly generated ideologies, save your money and don't buy this one, you'll just end up turning it off.

SYNTHETIK: Legion Rising

Great game but far from perfect...

The GOG version is missing the free Arena DLC, also, it's made in Gamemaker so expect A LOT of game breaking bugs. If you're good at the game expect to get soft-locked a lot in solo mode and a lot of CTD's in co-op. PS: Turn off auto-sorting from options, that's probably the most likely thing to cause a soft-lock.

Worms Forts: Under Siege

Most "no-one asked for this"-est game.

Imagine Worms 3D except with less freedom, no destructible environments and a very basic fort building system (if I can even call it that). That's basically what this is. It's still a decent Worms game at it's core, with an medieval twist to it. With what they're charging for it nowadays it's hard not to recommend, especially since you can't get it anywhere else at the time of writing this review.
