This game is very different from the famous first Amnesia. I guess a lot of people who were expecting more of the same got disappointed. It's not nearly as scary and you don't need to worry about matches or lantern oil. I think I prefer this to the original. The story is much better and the setting feels more fresh. Amnesia was very scary but not much more. This game has several other qualities besides from being scary. I'd recommend it for people who liked the original, Penumbra, Soma or any other frictional game. 3,5/5

My keyboard has no right ctrl-button, only one on the left. This game uses the right ctrl-button as default for the actions of one of the brothers. You can change the key to another using the menu and play for a bit but within a few minutes you'll reach a place where you have to click the right ctrl-button to proceed, even if you have changed the control settings. Just feels like such a cheap miss to do that I had to put an 1/5. Anyway that was just as good. This game is not meant to play on a keyboard. I saw it's released on the app store. I may try it on a bus ride or something some day. Better off getting the refund here.

There are many nice things to say about this game. It's not very fun or interesting but very relaxing. The music is beautiful and the art style is great. I like the vague scraps of lore spread and hidden throughout the open world and encountered when exploring. Flying is a thrill. The bad part, and why I'd rate this game a 3,5/5, is that there are many small and one not so small problem. I think it would have needed a few more months in development. Sometimes the game is a bit glitchy, never anything serious, more like if you jump onto towards ledge and hit it at a certain angle, you'll glide and twitch and move unnaturally. It doesn't happen very often. Sometimes I feel like the overworld should be more believable. There's plenty of islands with waterfalls. As if the water would never run out. Many islands have animals who would die from lack of food or inbreeding. Controls can be very frustrating during platforming sections. Last one, and the worst: sometimes it feels like the game doesn't know what it's trying to be. Parts are great and really enjoyable, relaxing, no effort or challenge, just flying and exploring ruins and remote islands. Then suddenly - a dungeon. Oy vey. They can be horribly boring and even frustrating. You'r just in that kind of relaxing mood and suddenly the game switches to some kind of not that great platforming game with controls not made for precision jumps between moving platforms etc. Overall the dungeons are atmospheric and well designed. They are mysterious and often great to explore. But often the actual game play in them feels out of place and annoying. Most of the dungeons are very short though, as the game itself. For another game from the studio, I hope they would polish the title a bit more before release. Anyway I'd really recommend this game, just don't expect a flawless game.

Fun game with a nice atmosphere and high replay value. A bit too random at times, at least for me. And many small things sometimes ruining the experience or just being slightly annoying. I would want to give it a four but there are many small and a few big annoyances that stops me. Example of a small one: Some of the menu systems are annoying. Especially when drilling, extracting gas or receiving stuff from events. Lets say your ship is full. Usually that's not a problem. You can just choose something to discard and make space for the new item. If you get free stuff from a random event or alien encounter however, you're not given the option. This forces you to either play with empty slots in a game that's very unforgiving, or not get any items. You also can't use items while the popup menu with new items appear. Impossible to use some of the oxygen to refill the tanks before discarding the rest. You could enter another menu to refill, but as soon as you close the menu the new stuff is in, all of it disappears. Example of a big one: Sometimes you are warped to a random location. Usually it is because you are swallowed by a worm hole, interact with some aliens or alien artifacts or have to escape a dangerous situation by warping. This is fun and makes the gameplay a lot more unpredictable. Bad thing is that a few times I have been warped to places from which it's not possible to progress. Unless you have gathered the right kind of specific technology that allows you to travel in such areas, it's the same as dying, just more annoying as it just feels like something the developers didn't intend to happen. Even if your ship is great and you have plenty of resources, you may lack some necessary equipment for such areas.

But overall it just feels kind of like the potential was wasted. Constant fart jokes, annoying characters, floppy taco controls, monotonous puzzles etc. Some parts were good. I got it at 80% off and would say that full price is really steep for 2&1/2 hours of not that great but at least kind of different gameplay.

Found it dull and felt unexcited about it throughout the playthrough. It's got a nice artstyle and some moments here and there. Except for that, not much to say in it's favor. I really enjoyed Inside by the same studio though. A much better game where they have taken the good parts from this, removed the bad parts and added some brand new things to it all. This, I would play just to figure out if I enjoy it or not. I'd still recommend it. I didn't like it but a lot of people do. As cheap and short as it is, there is not much to loose.

I just bought these two since they were heavily discounted. Didn't enjoy Limbo and was not excited about starting this up, thinking it would be more of the same. Glad I gave it a chance. I'm not going to write much. The main point here is that even if you didn't like Limbo, you could very well end up enjoying this game a lot.

The game has some sides to it that are often seen as negative sides. I just want to describe them a bit before going on with other stuff. 1. Dying is rarely further than a few mistakes away. 2. At times it can be frustrating to die far from your hut right before night fall, where you will respawn, only to have to wait until after the night to go pick up your backpack. Perhaps you don't even know what time it is (since your watch is in the backpack) and have to choose between getting the bag straight away (as if it is long until night time) or wait in the safe space (as if it's almost night). 3. Struggling with time, reaching and exploring a slightly remote area, only to realize you have to get back to your cabin before night fall. 4. Difficult combat system. None of these things should necessarily be seen as a negative thing though. If you play the game in a way that suits it, you won't have to get stuck in the middle of nowhere when night falls, or die needlessly swarmed by enemies you run into as you are fleeing another. The game is a very unusual kind of game and the sooner you start playing it it's way, the more you will enjoy it. Just plan your exploration a bit in advance and be careful. For example, one day explore minor areas and gather loot, random lore items and stuff to secure your hideout with. After that, go to that larger location to explore the plot. Survive with the help of the loot you just found instead of dying. The game offers great atmosphere, an incredible world, great story, characters, art and characters. The strange events that occur and the places you stumble upon makes exploration really rewarding and draws you into the world and it's weird story. Overall a game to play slowly and not play in order to reach the goal. If you reach the goal too quickly, you will miss a lot of characters, plot etc. Overall a great game and one of the best horror games I've played. Don't miss out on it just because you've read some of the usual complaints.

The game is good at pretending to be deep, but it feels empty and barren. It wouldn't be mysterious at all if you could actually hear or read the dialogues. As it is, now you are left to imagine what is happening. While much of it is plain enough, other parts are vague. It just feels like a cheap trick to achieve an impression of depth. Even the creator says that he does not know what the game is about and that any interpretation is valid. I don't like that approach to art. If i wanted to imagine a story I'd rather just write one myself. Not sit here and have very limited means of using my imagination. I like part of the editing. The music is good. Graphics are sometimes good. Environments are dull and very plain, with a few exceptions. I liked a few scenes and areas, which makes me rate this a two. It was worth the money as i bought it at a huge discount. Quite bad but at least it's different and for that sake perhaps worth to play for some.
